Compressor Solenoid Circuit - Air Conditioning System

AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM: B1451/51: Compressor Solenoid Circuit
B1451/51 - Compressor Solenoid Circuit

DESCRIPTION

In this circuit, the compressor assembly receives a signal on refrigerant compression required by the A/C amplifier. Based on the signal, the compressor assembly changes the degree of refrigerant compression.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT W/MAGNETIC CLUTCH COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the w/ magnet clutch compressor assembly connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE MAGNETIC CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C AMPLIFIER - WITH MAGNET CLUTCH COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the connector from cooler compressor assembly.

(b) Disconnect the connector from the A/C amplifier.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER (SOL +-BODY GROUND)

(a) Remove the air conditioning amplifier with connectors still connected.

(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(c) Press the AUTO switch ON.

(d) Measure the waveform between terminal SOL+ (D37-5) of the A/C amplifier and body ground.

OK:

Waveform appears as shown in the illustration.

HINT
Waveform varies with the blower level.

Result:

B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

A -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER
