Rear Wiper Motor

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM COVER




2. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the rear wiper arm cover.
b. Remove the nut and the rear wiper arm & blade assembly.

3. REMOVE REAR WIPER LINK CAP




4. REMOVE W/WASHER PACKING NUT REAR WIPER LINK PIVOT
a. Using a deep socket wrench (24 mm), remove the washer packing nut rear wiper link pivot.




5. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR COVER
a. Open the back door glass.
b. Using a screwdriver, release the 9 claws and remove the rear wiper motor cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

6. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the 2 rear defogger connectors.




b. Remove the 2 nuts and the rear wiper motor & bracket assembly with shaft cover assembly.




c. Disconnect the connector.
d. Remove the nut and junction switch.




e. Remove the 3 screws and the rear wiper motor & bracket assembly.




f. Remove the 3 bolts and the rear wiper motor assembly.

7. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET
a. Install the rear wiper motor grommet as shown in the illustration.




2. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Install the rear wiper motor assembly with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)




b. Install the rear wiper motor & bracket with the 3 screws.




c. Connect the connector.
d. Install the junction switch with the nut.
e. Connect the 2 rear defogger connectors.




f. Install the rear wiper motor & bracket assembly with shaft cover assembly with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)




3. INSTALL W/WASHER PACKING NUT REAR WIPER LINK PIVOT
a. Using a deep socket wrench (24mm), install the w/ washer packing nut rear wiper link pivot with the nut.

Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf.cm, 62 in.lbf)




4. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY
a. Clean the wiper arm serrations.
b. Clean the rear wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush (when reinstalling).




c. Install the RR wiper arm & blade assembly in the position shown in the illustration.
d. Install the RR wiper arm & blade assembly with the nut.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

HINT: Hold down the arm hinge by hand in order to fasten the nut.

e. Operate the wiper while spraying water or washer fluid on the glass. Ensure that the wiper functions properly and there is no interference with the body.
