Under certain conditions the fuel door may require a high effort to open. The fuel filler opening lid spring assembly has been modified to improve this condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2000 - 2004 model year Avalon vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Replace Fuel Door Spring





1. Disassembly:
a. Open Fuel door
b. Using a taped screwdriver, release the inner portion of the spring from the fuel door hinge.





c. Slide the spring toward the car to remove it.

2. Reassembly:
Reassemble in reverse order.
