Troubleshooting
DTC P0751 Shift Solenoid "A" Performance (Shift Solenoid Valve S1)SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
DTC Detecting Condition:
The ECM uses signals from the vehicle speed sensor and direct clutch speed sensor to detect the actual gear position (1st, 2nd, 3rd or O/D gear).
Then the ECM compares the actual gear with the shift schedule in the ECM memory to detect mechanical trouble of the shift solenoid valves, valve body or automatic transaxle (clutch, brake or gear etc.).
HINT: Check the shift solenoid valve S1 when DTC P0751 is output and check the shift solenoid valve S2 when DTC P0756 is output.
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
Monitor Strategy:
Typical Enabling Conditions:
Typical Malfunction Thresholds:
The ECM commands transmission gearshifts by turning the shift-solenoid valves ON and OFF. Using the signals from the input speed sensor (input shaft speed), the counter shaft speed sensor (counter shaft speed) and the output speed sensor (output shaft speed), the ECM calculates the actual gear position [1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) gear position]. When the gear position required by the ECM and the actual gear position are not same, the ECM illuminates the MIL and a DTC is set.
