Shift Interlock Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID
1. Disconnect the solenoid connector.





2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals.
Standard resistance: 29-35 ohms.
If resistance value is not specified, replace the solenoid.





3. Apply battery positive voltage between the terminals. Check that an operation noise can be heard from the solenoid. If the solenoid does not operate, replace the solenoid.

KEY INTERLOCK SOLENOID
1. Disconnect the solenoid connector.





2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals.
Standard resistance: 12.5-16.5 ohms.
If the resistance value is not as specified, replace the solenoid.





3. Apply battery positive voltage between the terminals. Check that an operation noise can be heard from the solenoid. If the solenoid does not operate, replace the solenoid.
