Automatic A/C


CONTROL ASSEMBLY INSPECTION (Automatic A/C)







1. INSPECT A/C LOWER PANEL ILLUMINATION







a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal B-14 and the negative (-) lead to terminal B-6.
b. Check that the illumination lights up.

If the illumination does not light up, test the bulb.

2. INSPECT MODE SWITCHES INDICATORS







a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal A-1.
b. Push each of the mode buttons in and check that that their indicators light up.

If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C control lower panel.

3. INSPECT BLOWER SPEED CONTROL SWITCH INDICATORS







a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal A-1.
b. Push each of the blower speed control buttons in and check that their indicators light up.

If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C control lower panel.

4. AUTO SWITCH INDICATOR







a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal A-6.
b. Check that the AUTO indicator lights up.

If operation is not as specified. replace the A/C control lower panel.










5. INSPECT MODE SWITCH CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified, replace the A/C control lower panel.










6. BLOWER SPEED CONTROL SWITCH CONTINUITY

If continuity is not as specified, replace the A/C control lower panel.










7. INSPECT AUTO SWITCH CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified. replace the A/C control lower panel.

8. INSPECT TEMPERATURE CONTROL SWITCH
a. Check that the resistance between terminals B-1 and B-5 is approx. 3 K Ohms.







b. Gradually turn the temperature control dial from HOT side to COOL side, and check that the resistance between terminals B-4 and B-5 increase from O to approx. 3 K Ohms.

If switch operation is not as specified, replace the A/C control lower panel.

9. INSPECT A/C INDICATOR







a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal C-9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal C-2.
b. Check that the A/C indicator light up.

If operation is not as specified. replace the A/C control upper panel.

10. INSPECT AIR INLET INDICATOR







a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal C-9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal C-4.
b. Check that the and RECIRC indicator lights up. If operation is not as specified. replace the A/C control upper panel.
c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal C-9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal C-14.
d. Check that the FRESH indicator lights up.

If operation is not as specified. replace the A/C control upper panel.

11. INSPECT INDICATOR DIMMING OPERATION







a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal C-6 and the negative (-) lead to terminal C-7. 14 and 2.
b. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal C-8 and check that the mode indicator dims. If operation is not as specified. replace the A/C control upper panel.










12. INSPECT A/C SWITCH CONTINUITY
If continuity is not as specified, replace the A/C control upper panel.
