Front Lower Suspension / Lower Stabilizer Bar:
REMOVAL
1. Remove front wheels.
Torque: 103 Nm (76 ft. lbs.).
2. Remove engine under cover.
3. Remove left and right front fender splash shields.
4. Remove both stabilizer bar links. Remove the nuts and both stabilizer bar links from the stabilizer bar and the lower suspension arm.
Torque: 74 Nm (54 ft. lbs.).
NOTE: If the ball joint stud turns together with the nut, use a hexagon wrench to hold the stud.
5. Remove stabilizer bar, as follows:
a. Remove the left and right apron seal set bolts.
b. Remove the four bracket bolts and the stabilizer bar with the cushions and brackets.
Torque: 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
6. Remove cushions and brackets.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Install the cushion to the outside of the paint line.
Front Lower Suspension / Lower Stabilizer Bar:
INSPECTION
Inspect the ball joint for rotation condition, as follows:
a. As shown, flip the ball joint stud back and forth five times before installing the nut.
b. Using a torque wrench, turn the stud continuously one turn every 2 - 4 seconds and take the torque reading on the fifth turn.
Turning torque: 0.05 - 1.0 Nm (0.4 - 8.7 inch lbs.).
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
