CHARGE AIR COOLER (CAC) REMOVAL PROCEDURES
1. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE TERMINAL CABLE FROM BATTERY.
CAUTION: Work must not be started for at least 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
2. REMOVE NO.1 AIR HOSE.
- Loosen the 2 hose clamps, and remove the air hose.
3. REMOVE RH FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SEAL.
4. REMOVE RH ENGINE UNDER COVER.
5. DISCONNECT AIR HOSE FROM CAC.
(a) Remove the 2 bolts holding the No.2 air tube to the body.
(b) Disconnect the following hoses:
[NOTE] Refer to image for (#) references.
- No. 2 air hose (1) from CAC
- No. 4 air hose (2) from No. 2 air tube
- No. 3 air hose (3) from CAC
(c) Remove the No.2 air tube (4).
6. REMOVE CAC AND CAC DUCT ASSEMBLY.
Figure A:
(a) Turn the tire fully in the direction shown in Figure A.
(b) Remove the nut, 2 bolts and CAC.
Figure B:
HINT: With the CAC turned to the angle shown in Figure B, remove the CAC between the suspension and body.
7. REMOVE CAC DUCT FROM CAC.
- Remove the 4 bolts and CAC duct.
CHARGE AIR COOLER (CAC) INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
1. INSTALL CAC DUCT TO CAC.
- Install the CAC duct with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 4.9 Nm (43 in.lb)
2. INSTALL THE CAC AND DUCT ASSEMBLY.
Figure A:
(a) Turn the tire fully in the direction shown in Figure A.
(b) Place the CAC in position on the body.
(c) Install the CAC with the nut and 2 bolts.
Torque: 13 Nm (10 ft.lb)
Figure C:
HINT: Insert the CAC between the suspension and body while holding the CAC at the angle shown in Figure C.
3. CONNECT AIR HOSE TO CAC.
(a) Connect the following hoses:
(Refer to image for (#) references.)
- No.2 air hose (1) to CAC
- No.4 air hose (2) to No. 2 air tube
- No.3 air hose (3) to CAC
(b) Install the No. 2 air tube (4) to the body with the 2 bolts.
4. INSTALL RH ENGINE UNDER COVER.
5. INSTALL RH FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SEAL
6. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR HOSE.
- Install the air hose with the 2 hose clamps.
7. CONNECT NEGATIVE TERMINAL CABLE TO BATTERY.
