Intake Air Control Valve: Description and Operation
PURPOSEThe intake air control VSV controls operation of the No. 2 turbocharger.
OPERATION
The VSV receives power from the ECM whenever the engine is running. When boost pressure reaches a preset level, the ECM completes the VSV circuit ground. Vacuum passes through the open VSV to the intake air control valve actuator. The intake air control valve opens which allows charge air from the NO. 2 turbo to enter the intake manifold.
