Oil Pan: Service and Repair
1. Obtain audio anti-theft code, if equipped, as outlined under Technician Safety Information, then remove battery and battery tray.2. Remove engine as outlined under Engine, Service and Repair.
3. On models with turbocharger, remove crankshaft position sensor and alternator.
4. Remove timing belt following procedure outlined under Timing Belt, Service and Repair, then the idler pulley.
5. On models with turbocharger, remove drive belt tensioner bracket then the timing belt plate and crankshaft timing pulley.
6. Remove crankshaft timing pulley, then the oil dipstick and tube assembly.
7. Remove oil level sensor, then the No. 2 oil pan.
8. Remove oil strainer, then the oil pan baffle plate.
9. On models with turbocharger, remove turbo oil outlet pipe.
. Remove No. 2 oil pan by prying between cylinder block and No. 1 oil pan.
10. Remove crankshaft front oil seal, then the oil pump.
11. Reverse procedure to install. Reset audio coded anti-theft system, if equipped, as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
