Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. On models with coded audio anti-theft systems, refer to Technician Safety Information for code procedures.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. On models equipped with cruise control, remove battery and cruise control actuator.
4. Disconnect electrical connectors from starter motor.
5. Remove starter motor attaching bolts, heat shield (if equipped), then the starter motor.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
