Impact Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Disarm SRS as outlined under Air Bag System Disarming and Arming.
2. On models with floor shift, remove front seat, upper console box, center cluster finish panel, lower finish panel assembly, lower No. 2 finish panel, glove compartment door, glove compartment and front console box, Fig. 56.

3. On models with column shift, remove front seat, center seat belt, center cluster finish panel, lower No. 2 finish panel, glove compartment door, glove compartment, finish panel, center pillar garnish, cowl side trim, front door inside scuff plate and protector, then peel back floor carpet, Fig. 57.

4. Remove connector for sensor assembly, then remove mounting screws with suitable Torx wrench and remove air bag sensor assembly.
5. Reverse procedure to install and tighten bolts to specifications.
