PROCEDURE
1. Using a belt tension gauge, check the tension.

Belt Tension Gauge:
- Nippondenso BTG-20 (95506 - 00020)
- Borroughs No.BT-33-73F, or equivalents.

Drive Belt Tension
- New belt [1]: 150-185 lbs.
- Used belt [2]: 95-135 lbs.





2. If installing the belt, check that it fits properly in the ribbed grooves.


[1] "New belt. refers to a belt which has been lest than 5 minutes on a running engine.
[2] "Used belt. refers to a belt which has been used on a running engine for 5 minutes or more.
