Disassembly and Reassembly





A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE EVAPORATOR
(a) Remove the screw and pull out the thermistor.
(b) Remove the 6 screws and evaporator cover.
(c) Pull out the evaporator.

ASSEMBLY HINT: If evaporator was replaced, add compressor oil to compressor.

Add 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.)

Compressor oil:
ND-OIL B or equivalent


2. REMOVE EXPANSION VALVE
Using a hexagon wrench, remove the 2 bolts and separate the evaporator and expansion valve.

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

INSTALLATION HINT: Lubricate 4 new 0-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.

3. Auto A/C Only:
REMOVE POWER TRANSISTOR
Remove the 2 screws and power transistor.

4. REMOVE BLOWER RESISTOR
Remove the 2 screws and blower resistor.

5. Auto A/C Only:
REMOVE AIR MIX SERVOMOTOR
Remove the 2 screws and the air mix servomotor.

6. REMOVE AIR OUTLET SERVOMOTOR
Remove the 2 screws and air outlet servomotor.

7. Auto A/C Only:
REMOVE ASPIRATOR
Remove the screw and aspirator.

8. Auto A/C Only:
REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
After taking off the clamp, take out the sensor.

9. REMOVE HEATER RADIATOR
(a) Remove the 2 screws and the water valve control cable guide.
(b) Remove the 3 screws and 3 clamps.
(c) Pull out the heater radiator.

A/C UNIT ASSEMBLY
Assembly is in the reverse order of disassembly.
