Lower Panel For Auto A/C
1. INSPECT ILLUMINATION OPERATION
a. Connect positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal B-14 and negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal B-6.
b. Check that the illumination lights up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the bulb.
2. REMOVE MODE SWITCH AND BLOWER SPEED CONTROL SWITCH OPERATION
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal A-1.
b. Push each of the mode switches in and check that the their indicators light up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the heater control assembly.
c. Check the continuity exists between terminals while the switch is pressed, as shown in the chart.
If continuity is not as specified, replace the heater control assembly.
3. INSPECT AUTO SWITCH OPERATION
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal A-1.
b. Check the AUTO indicator lights up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the heater control assembly.
c. Check the continuity exists between terminals A-8 and A-1 while AUTO switch is pressed.
If no continuity exists, replace the heater control assembly.
4. INSPECT OFF SWITCH OPERATION
Check the continuity exists between terminals B-2 and A-1 while OFF switch is pressed.
If no continuity exists, replace the heater control assembly.
5. INSPECT TEMPERATURE CONTROL SWITCH OPERATION
a. Check that the resistance between terminal B-11 and B-5 is approx. 3.0 k Ohms.
b. Gradually turn the temperature control dial from "WARM" side to "COO" side and check the resistance between terminals B-4 and B-5 increase from 0 to approx. 3.0 k Ohms.
If operation is not as specified, replace the heater control assembly.
