CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR - INSPECTION PROCEDURES1. REMOVE NO.2 AIR TUBE FOR CHARGE AIR COOLER (CAC).
2. DISCONNECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR.
3. INSPECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE.
- Using an ohmmeter. measure the resistance between terminals.
NOTE: Cold and Hot in the following specifications express the temperature of the sensors themselves.
Resistance (COLD): {from -10°C (14°F) to 50°C (122°F)}
Nippondenso:.... 835 - 1,400 Ohms
Asian: ....985 - 1,600 Ohms
Resistance (HOT): {from 50°C (122°F) to 100°C (212°F)}
Nippondenso:....1,060 - 1,645 Ohms
Asian.....1.265 - 1,890 Ohms
^ If the resistance is not as specified. replace the crank shaft position sensor.
4. RECONNECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR.
5. REINSTALL NO.2 AIR TUBE FOR CAC.
