General Fuel Delivery and Air Induction System Precautions
^ SRS AIRBAG WARNING: Work must not be started until at least 90 seconds AFTER the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.^ When disconnecting a high pressure fuel line, a large amount of gasoline will spill out. Refer to Fuel Pressure Release Procedures and follow the recommended steps.
Service and Repair
^ Before working on the fuel system, disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.
HINT: Any diagnostic trouble code retained by the computer will be erased when the battery terminal is removed. Therefore, if necessary, read the diagnosis before removing the terminal.
^ Do not smoke or work near an open flame when working on the fuel system.
^ Keep gasoline away from rubber or leather parts.
