Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper: Description and Operation
PURPOSE
The fuel pressure pulsation damper decreases the fluctuations of fuel pressure that occur when an injector opens and closes.
OPERATION
The fuel pressure pulsation damper is a spring loaded diaphragm. High fuel line pressures push the diaphragm against spring pressure. When a drop in fuel pressure occurs, (e.g.. when a fuel injector opens), the spring pressure is released, "smoothing out" the pressure transition.
