Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair





MAF METER REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE TERMINAL CABLE FROM BATTERY.

CAUTION: Work must not be started for 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR HOSE.



Loosen the 2 hose clamps, and remove the air hose.
3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE.



Loosen the 2 hose clamps, and remove the air cleaner hose.
4. REMOVE MAF METER FROM AIR CLEANER.



(a) Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the MAF meter from the air cleaner case.
(b) Disconnect the MAF meter wire from the wire clamp on the air cleaner case.
(c) Disconnect the MAF meter connector, and remove the MAF meter.

MAF METER INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL MAF METER.



(a) Insert the MAF meter end into the air cleaner case.
(b) Install the MAF meter with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 6.9 Nm (61 in.lb)
(c) Connect the MAF meter connector.



(d) Install the MAF meter wire to the wire clamp on the air cleaner case.

2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE.



Install the air cleaner hose with the 2 hose clamps.

3. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR HOSE.



Install the air hose with the 2 hose clamps.

4. CONNECT NEGATIVE TERMINAL CABLE TO BATTERY.
