DTC 43 Starter Signal Circuit

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. Check output condition of diagnostic trouble code 43 in TEST mode.
(a) Turn ignition switch OFF.

DLC2 Terminal ID:

(b) Connect terminals TE2 and E1 of DLC1 or DLC2.
(c) Turn ignition switch ON (Don't start the engine).
(d) Connect terminals TE1 and E1 of DLC1 or DLC2.



(e) Check if code 43 is output by the malfunction indicator lamp.
(f) Start the engine.
(g) Check that code 43 disappears.
- If OK proceed to the next circuit inspection shown in DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM.
- If not OK proceed to step 2.

2. Check for open in harness and connector between ECM and starter relay
- If OK check and replace ECM.
- If not OK repair or replace harness or connector.
