DTC 31 - MAP Sensor Signal

CIRCUIT WIRING DIAGRAM





INSPECTION PROCEDURE



1. CHECK VOLTAGE BETWEEN TERMINALS VG AND E21 OF ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) CONNECTOR.
(a) Connect the Check Harness A.
(b) Start engine.
(c) Measure voltage between terminals VG and E21 of engine control module connector while engine rpm at idling.

Expected Voltage: 0.7 - 1.7 volts

- If OK check and replace ECM.
- If not OK proceed to step 2.

2. CHECK VOLTAGE BETWEEN TERMINAL 1 OF MASS AIR FLOW METER CONNECTOR AND BODY GROUND.
(a) Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.
(b) Turn ignition switch ON.



(c) Measure voltage between terminal 1 of mass air flow meter connector and body ground.

Expected Voltage: 9.0 - 14.0 volts

- If OK proceed to step 3.
- If not OK check and repair mass air flow meter power source circuit.

3. CHECK FOR OPEN AND SHORT IN HARNESS AND CONNECTOR BETWEEN ECM AND MASS AIR FLOW METER.
- If OK replace mass air flow meter.
- If not OK repair or replace harness or connector.
