Inspection Procedure

CODE 12 - G, NE SIGNAL CIRCUIT (NO. 1)

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (NE), CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSORS NO.1 (G1), NO.2 (G2).



(a) For crankshaft position sensor, remove crankshaft position sensor.



(b) For camshaft position sensor No.1, No.2, disconnect camshaft position sensor No.1 No.2 connectors.
(c) Measure resistance of crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor No.1 and No.2.
(d) Compare your readings to the resistance chart below.

Resistance Chart:

- If OK proceed to Step 2.
- If not OK Replace crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor No.1 or No.2 as required.

2. CHECK FOR OPEN AND SHORT IN HARNESS AND CONNECTOR BETWEEN ENGINE CONTROL MODULE AND EACH SENSOR.
- If OK proceed to Step 3.
- If not OK repair or replace harness or connector.

3. INSPECT SENSOR INSTALLATION AND TEETH OF TIMING ROTOR.
^. If OK check and replace engine control module.
- If not OK tighten the sensor. Replace timing rotor (Intake camshaft, Crankshaft timing pulley).
