Diagnostic Procedure

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE FOR DTC 12



1. CHECK RESISTANCE OF THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
- If OK proceed to step 2.
- If not OK replace replace faulty sensor.

2. CHECK FOR OPEN AND SHORT IN HARNESS AND CONNECTOR BETWEEN ECM AND EACH SENSOR.
- If OK proceed to step 3.
- If not OK repair or replace harness or connector.

3. INSPECT SENSOR INSTALLATION AND TEETH ON THE SIGNAL PLATE.
- If OK check and replace ECM.
- If not tighten the sensor. Replace the timing rotor.
