SUBJECT: 1992 TOYOTA WARRANTY POLICY AND PROCEDURES
Please find for your use the 1992 Toyota Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual.
Effective immediately, the information in this manual supersedes all previous manuals and Warranty Bulletins. Incorporated in the 1992 Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual is policy information for previous model years as well as 1992 model year policy. Please destroy any earlier editions of this manual.
Highlights of the 1992 Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual include:
^ Revised and expanded explanation of the warranty documentadon requirements is provided in Section 7.
^ Revised and expanded explanation of warranty parts disposition requirements is provided in Section 10.
^ Explanation of new policy for 1992.
Original equipment battery coverage for 1992 model year vehicles:
- Warranted at 100% for 24 months from the vehicle's in-service date. Warranted at 50% between 25 months and 36 months in service. (Labor, 50% of parts amount and applicable mark-up.) See Section 5 for details.
Prior Approval:
- Prior Approval (DSM authorization) for paint repair or glass replacement claims has been increased from $200 to $250. See Section 4 for details.
All service, warranty and office personnel who are involved in the area of warranty should be thoroughly familiar with the contents of this manual.
