74100 PANASONIC CASSETTE PLAYER WON'T PLAY


CONDITION:



Cassette will load, fast forward/rewind and eject but will not play on Panasonic 74100 cassette player (P/N 08690 - 00818). The motor is operating but there is little or no audio output.



CAUSE:

Gear mechanism which controls the tape head becomes inoperative preventing the tape head from contacting the cassette tape.

CORRECTIONS:

The gears controlling the tape head have been changed to improve durability.

If a customer complains of this condition, exchange the cassette player through Panasonic's exchange system.





Exchange units have been countermeasured starting 12/91 and will have a GREEN DOT after the serial number.
