Removal of Transaxle




1.1 (w/o CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM)
REMOVE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE
1.2 (w/ CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM)
REMOVE BATTERY AND CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET




2. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER AND TUBE CLAMP




3. DISCONNECT BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH CONNECTOR




4. DISCONNECT CONTROL CABLES
a. Remove the clips and washers.
b. Remove the retainer from the cables.




5. REMOVE SELECTING BELLCRANK WITH BRACKET FROM TRANSMISSION CASE




6. REMOVE TRANSAXLE MOUNTING BOLTS OF TRANSAXLE UPPER
7. RAISE VEHICLE

CAUTION: Be sure the vehicle is securely supported.

8. REMOVE UNDER COVERS
9. DRAIN TRANSAXLE OIL
10. DISCONNECT SPEEDOMETER CABLE




11. DISCONNECT BOTH DRIVE SHAFTS

NOTE: Suspend the drive shafts with cord.




12. REMOVE FRONT AND REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKETS
13. REMOVE STARTER
Remove the mounting bolts and lay the starter alongside the engine.




14. DISCONNECT LEFT ENGINE MOUNTING
a. Raise the transaxle and engine slightly with a jack and wooden block in between.
b. Disconnect the left engine mounting.




15. REMOVE TRANSAXLE
a. Remove the transaxle mounting bolts from the engine.
b. Lower the engine left side and remove the transaxle from the engine.
