Installation of Transaxle




1. INSTALL TRANSAXLE TO ENGINE
Align the input shaft spline with the clutch disc, and install the transaxle to the engine.
Torque the bolts.

Torque: A 650 kg-cm (47 ft-lb, 64 N-m)
B 470 kg-cm (34 ft-lb, 46 N-m)
C 75 kg-cm (65 in.-lb, 7.4 N-m)




2. INSTALL FRONT AND REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKETS

Torque: Front 590 kg-cm (43 ft-lb, 58 N-m)
Rear 290 kg-cm (21 ft-lb, 28 N-m)




3. CONNECT LEFT ENGINE MOUNTING
Connect the left engine mounting with the bolts.
Torque the bolts.

Torque: 490 kg-cm (35 ft-lb, 48 N-m)

4. INSTALL STARTER
Install the starter, and torque the bolts.




5. INSTALL FRONT AND REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BOLTS
a. Temporarily install the engine mounting bolts.
b. By bouncing the engine, confirm the mount insulator is mounted on the middle of the insulator mount bracket.
c. Torque the engine mounting bolts.

Torque: 650 kg-cm (47 ft-lb, 64 N-m)




6. CONNECT DRIVE SHAFTS
7. CONNECT SPEEDOMETER CABLE
8. FILL TRANSAXLE WITH GEAR OIL

Oil grade: API GL-4 or GL-5
Viscosity: SAE 75W-90 or 80W-90
Capacity: 2.4 liters (2.5 US qts, 2.1 lmp. qts)

9. INSTALL UNDER COVERS




10. INSTALL TRANSAXLE MOUNTING BOLTS OF TRANSAXLE UPPER




11. CONNECT CONTROL CABLES
a. Install the retainers.
b. Connect the cables to the linkage with the washer and clip.
12. CONNECT BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH CONNECTOR




13. INSTALL SELECTING BELLCRANK WITH BRACKET TO TRANSMISSION CASE




14. INSTALL CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER AND TUBE CLAMP
15.1 (w/o CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM)
INSTALL NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE
15.2 (w/ CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM)
INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET AND BATTERY
16. PERFORM ROAD TEST
Check for any abnormal noise or operation.
