Removal
1. DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL2. DISCONNECT NEUTRAL START SWITCH CONNECTOR AND WIRE HARNESS CLAMP
3. DISCONNECT SPEEDOMETER CABLE
4. REMOVE THROTTLE CABLE FROM THROTTLE LINK
5. REMOVE STARTER
a. Disconnect the cable and connector.
b. Remove the starter with the two bolts.
6. REMOVE UPPER SIDE MOUNTING BOLTS
7. RAISE VEHICLE
8. DRAIN TRANSAXLE FLUID
Using SST, remove the drain plug and drain the fluid into suitable container.
SST 09043-38100
9. DRAIN OUT OF FLUID FROM DIFFERENTIAL
10. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER HOSE FROM PIPE
11. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER-COVER
12. DISCONNECT CONTROL CABLE
a. Remove the clips from the control cable.
b. Disconnect the control cable from the lever.
13. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFTS
14. REMOVE SIX TORQUE CONVERTER MOUNTING BOLTS
a. Turn the crankshaft to gain access to each bolt.
b. Hold the crankshaft pulley nut with a wrench and remove the six bolts.
15. DISCONNECT BOND CABLE FROM LH ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET
16. DISCONNECT LH ENGINE MOUNTING
Remove the two mounting set bolts.
17. REMOVE ENGINE REAR MOUNTING BRACKET
a. Hold the engine and transaxle with two jacks, or a chain block and jack.
b. Remove the four bolts and disconnect the rear mounting bracket from the body.
c. Remove the two bolts and engine rear mounting bracket.
18. REMOVE TRANSAXLE MOUNTING BOLTS
19. REMOVE TRANSAXLE FROM ENGINE
20. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER FROM TRANSAXLE
