Installation

1. INSTALL TORQUE CONVERTER IN TRANSMISSION
If the torque converter has been drained and washed, refill with new ATF.

Fluid type: ATF DEXRON(R) II




2. CHECK TORQUE CONVERTER INSTALLATION
Using calipers and a straight edge, measure from the installed surface to the front surface of the transmission housing.

Correct distance: More than 13.4 mm (0.528 in.)

3. ALIGN TRANSMISSION AT INSTALLATION POSITION
a. Align the two knock pins on the block with the converter housing.
b. Temporarily install one bolt.




4. INSTALL TRANSAXLE HOUSING MOUNTING BOLTS
Install the transaxle housing mounting bolts.

Torque: 650 kg-cm (47 ft-lb, 64 N.m)




5. CONNECT LH MOUNTING BRACKET
a. Install the LH engine mounting bracket with two bolts. Torque the two bolts.

Torque: 440 kg-cm (32 ft-lb, 43 N.m)

b. Connect the bond cable with the bolt.




6. INSTALL ENGINE REAR MOUNTING BRACKET

a. Install the rear mounting bracket to the engine with two bolt. Torque the bolts.

Torque: 590 kg-cm (43 ft-lb, 58 N.m)




b. Connect the rear mounting bracket to the body with four bolts. Torque the bolts.

Torque: 740 kg-cm (54 ft-lb, 73 N.m)




7. INSTALL TORQUE CONVERTER MOUNTING BOLTS
a. First, install the gray bolt and then five black bolts.
b. Tighten the bolts evenly.

Torque: 185 kg-cm (13 ft-lb, 18 N.m)

8. INSTALL ENGINE REAR END PLATE
9. INSTALL DRIVE SHAFT




10. CONNECT CONTROL CABLE
a. Connect the control cable to the lever.
b. Install the clip to the control cable.




11. CONNECT OIL COOLER HOSE TO PIPE
12. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER




13. INSTALL STARTER
a. Install the starter with two bolts.
b. Connect the two connector.

14. INSTALL AND ADJUST THROTTLE CABLE
15. CONNECT SPEEDOMETER CABLE
16. CONNECT NEUTRAL START SWITCH AND WIRE HARNESS CLAMP
17. CONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL




18. FILL TRANSAXLE

Capacity:

Automatic transmission 5.5 liters (5.8 US qts, 4.8 Imp. qts)

Differential 1.4 liters (1.5 US qts, 1.2 Imp. qts)
