Signal Generator Pick-Up Coils

1. Remove distributor cap.

Pickup Coil Resistance:

2. Using an ohmmeter measure the resistance between the two wires of the pickup coil.

Pickup Coil Resistance: 130 - 210 ohms

Pickup Coil Air Gap:

3. Using a non magnetic feeler gauge, measure the gap between the signal rotor and the pickup coil projection.

Pickup Coil Air Gap: 0.008 - 0.016 in (0.2 - 0.4 mm)

4. The air gap is not adjustable. If any of the above test results are outside specifications, replace breaker plate and pickup coil assembly.
