Fig. 1 Front MacPherson Strut:

1. Disconnect brake line from hose. Use suitable container to catch brake fluid.
2. Remove clips and E-rings, Fig. 1.
3. Remove 2 bolts from brake caliper and remove caliper, leaving hose attached.
4. Scribe alignment marks on lower bracket of strut and on camber adjustment cam, then remove bolts and disconnect steering knuckle and strut.
5. Remove 3 bolts holding top of strut to body structure. Remove unit from vehicle and cover driveshaft boot with rag to prevent damage.
6. Install bolt through strut bracket with nuts inside to brace bracket when clamping in vise.
7. Using suitable spring compressor, compress coil spring.
8. Using suitable tool hold spring seat to prevent it from turning, and remove nut.
9. Remove suspension support, spring seat, spring, insulators and bumper.
10. Reverse procedure to install. Torque strut support nut, three mounting nuts, shock to steering knuckle nuts and brake caliper bolts to specifications.
