Fuel Supply Line: Service and Repair

Correct Installation Of Fuel Lines And Hoses:

1. When connecting the union bolt (banjo fitting) on the high pressure fuel pipe, observe the following procedure:
a. Always use a new gasket.
b. Tighten union bolt by hand to start. This prevents cross-threading fitting.
c. Torque union bolts to 22 ft.lbs. (29 N-m).
2. When connecting a flare nut fitting on the high pressure fuel pipe, observe the following:
a. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the flare before installation.
b. Tighten flare fitting by hand to start. This prevents cross-threading fitting.
c. Torque the flare nut fitting to 22 ft.lbs. (30 N-m).
3. Install slip-on fuel hose on the fuel pipes according to the dimensions in the image.
