Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

Intake Air Temperature Sensor (THA):

The Intake Air Temperature Sensor is mounted in the Airflow Meter on 4A-GE and in the air cleaner on 4A-FE. It measures the temperature of incoming intake (ambient) air, so the ECU can adjust injection duration. This aids with improvement in fuel atomization and decreases carbonizing within the engine. The THA inputs the ECU through terminal THA.
