Warranty - Remanufactured A/C Compressors

SUBJECT: REMANUFACTURED A/C COMPRESSORS
Effective July 18, 1988, remanufactured air conditioner compressors will be available for replacement under warranty. After this date, remanufactured A/C compressors must be used when replacing a defective compressor. Remanufactured compressors will be warranted for the remainder of the applicable new vehicle warranty or Toyota's 3 months/4,000 miles service part warranty, whichever is applicable. All cores (including seized cores) must be returned for evaluation and core credit.
Air conditioner compressors removed from vehicles involved in this program should be returned via common carrier to:
Toyota Motor Distributors, Inc. BWD Corporation 235 N. Sherman Corona, CA 91720
As with all claim's involving remanufactured parts, TMS will reimburse dealers for the exchange price of the remanufactured part plus mark-up. Core value will be reimbursed provided that the following core return requirements have been met:
^ The core must be returned in the packaging in which the remanufactured compressor was received.
^ The shipping plate and O-rings must be securely bolted to the compressor core.
^ The core must be complete, unbroken, and fully assembled.
^ The attached warranty tag must be completed in full (nonpart #00404-01950-01).
^ Receipt of the core must be within the time limits set by TMS for the return of requested parts (see Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual, page 9-7).
^ The core must be found to be defective.
Warranty claims are subject to be debited if the requested parts are received outside of the time limits or the above requirements are not met.
