DTC 27

1. Inspect sub oxygen sensor only when CODE 27 is indicated.
2. Cancel diagnostic CODE 27, (Refer to procedure).
3. Start engine and warm-up to normal operating temperature.
4. On M/T vehicles, drive for 5 minutes or more between 50 - 62 mph in 4th or 5th gear. On A/T vehicles, drive for 5 minutes or more between 50 - 62 mph in drive.
5. Following the procedure in step 4, fully depress the accelerator pedal for 2 seconds.
6. Stop the vehicle and turn the ignition switch to OFF.
7. Repeat steps 3 - 5.
8. If CODE 27 reappears, check sub oxygen sensor wiring circuit for shorts or opens.
9. If the circuit tests normal, replace the sub oxygen sensor.
