TITLE ALL-TRAC DRIVESHAFT CENTER SUPPORT BEARING


A high pitched noise may be heard from the Driveshaft center support bearing on All-Trac Camry and Corolla models at temperatures below 14~F (-10~C).

In the production of the All-Trac Camry and Corolla, either the NSK or KOYO, bearings are used for the Center Support. The KOYO bearings have been identified as the cause of the above condition.

The KOYO Bearing can be identified as shown below:
1) The KOYO bearing identification is embossed on the rubber cushion of the bearing assembly.

2) The NSK bearing assembly has no identification on the rubber cushion.

3) The NSK bearings will be used on vehicles produced after February 1989 (see vehicle information section of this bulletin). The KOYO bearing will be continued only after it has been modified to eliminate the above condition.
