1. Viscous mode. This mode is during normal driving. After completing inspection and or service to the vehicle, return the mode switch to position shown in Fig. 6.
2. Viscous free mode. This mode cuts off the driving force transmitted from the center differential to the control coupling, and makes the center differential free, Fig. 7. Never use this mode during normal vehicle operation.
3. OFF mode. This mode cuts off the driving force transmitted from the center differential to the transfer unit and locks the center differential. However, when the lever is shifted to this mode, the driving force is transmitted only to the front wheels, Fig. 8. Do not use this during normal driving.
