TO: ALL TOYOTA DEALERS AND SERVICE MANAGERS

SUBJECT: SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN - K05

Toyota will initiate a special service campaign to replace the front seat lap belt guides with modified ones on certain 1987, 1988 and early 1989 Toyota Camrys.

When the front seat lap belt is released and allowed to "snap" back into the retractor guide, under certain conditions, the lap belt may lock in the retracted and stowed position.

You are requested, using the following information, to install the modified seat belt guides on the vehicles involved in this campaign, including all vehicles currently in your stock.

Note: You will be sent SSC notifications with your dealer's name and address for vehicles which, according to our record, you have in stock. If any vehicles in your stock involved in this campaign have been sold to an ultimate customer prior to receipt of this notification, please contact this known customer and perform the necessary repairs.
