Fuel Pump Relay: Testing and Inspection

1. Unplug the Circuit Opening Relay from its location beside the ECU under the center of the dash.
2. Using an Ohmmeter, check for continuity between terminals STA and E1.

Testing Circuit Opening Relay:





3. Check that there is continuity between terminals +B and FC. Check that there is NO continuity between terminals +B and FP.
4. If readings are not as specified, replace the Circuit Opening Relay.
5. Apply battery current across terminals STA and E1.
6. Using an Ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals +B and FP.

Testing Circuit Opening Relay Operation:





7. Apply battery current across terminals +B and FC.
8. Using a voltmeter, check for 12 volts between terminals FP and FC.
9. If a problem is found, replace the Circuit Opening Relay.
