Hose/Line HVAC: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT OF REFRIGERANT LINES

1. Recover refrigerant from refrigeration system.
2. Replace faulty tube or hose.

NOTE: Cap the open fitting immediately to keep moisture out of the system.

3. Torque or 0-ring and bolted type fittings

Tightening torque for 0-ring fittings
0.31 in. tube 14 Nm (10 ft lb)
0.50 in. tube 22 Nm (16 ft lb)
0.62 in. tube 32 Nm (24 ft lb)
Bolted type
For compressor 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
For condenser 13 Nm (9 ft lb)
For receiver 5.4 Nm (48 in lb)

4. Evacuate air from air conditioning system.
5. Charge air conditioning system with refrigerant and check on gas leakage.
Specified amount: 600 - 750 g (1.3 - 1.7 lb)
