Removal and Installation

REMOVAL OF WHEEL CYLINDER






Using a screwdriver, reduce the brake shoe adjustment by turning the adjuster.



Using Special Service Tool (SST) #09703-30010, disconnect the return spring.

Using SST #09718-00010 remove the shoe hold-down spring, cups and pin.
Remove front shoe



Disconnect the anchor spring from the front shoe remove the front shoe.
Remove the anchor spring from the rear shoe.



Using SST #09718-00010 remove the shoe hold-down spring, cups and pin.
Using a screwdriver, disconnect the parking cable from the anchor plate.
Using pliers, disconnect the parking brake cable from. the lever and remove the rear shoe together with the adjuster.
Remove rear shoe



Remove the adjusting lever spring.
Remove the adjuster together with the return spring.



Using SST #09751-3601 disconnect the brake line. Use a container to catch the brake fluid.




INSTALLATION OF WHEEL CYLINDER

NOTE: Install in proper direction only.




Install the wheel cylinder on the backing plate with two bolts.

Torque: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)




Using SST #09751-36011, connect the brake tube.

Torque: 15 Nm (11 ft lb)
