TITLE TOYOTA VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT

On port and dealer installed Toyota Vehicle Security System (TVSS), adjustment of glass breakage sensor sensitivity is very important in preventing customer complaints. Please use the following procedure to properly adjust sensitivity of TVSS.

NOTE: This procedure should be completed prior to final mounting of the ECU.

1. Close all windows, doors and trunk.

2. Using the remote transmitter, arm TVSS.

3. Wait until the red L.E.D. of TVSS begins to flash. (approximately. 2 seconds)

4. With the tip of the ignition key, impact the center of the window glass with moderate force at the location indicated below:

Celica/Camry Left Rear Window Glass
Truck Rear Window or Sliding Rear Window Glass
4Runner Right Rear Window Glass

5. If it triggers, the alarm is set too sensitive. Adjust TVSS sensitivity as indicated in step 7.

6. If it does not trigger, impact the left front window glass for Celica/Camry or the right front window for Truck/4Runner. If it, again, does not trigger, the alarm's sensitivity is set too low. Adjust sensitivity as indicated in step 7.

7. Locate the "G.B. ADJ" screw on the side of the TVSS ECU. Use a small flat blade screwdriver to make adjustments as follows:

- If TVSS is set too sensitive, turn "G.B. ADJ" screw in the counterclockwise direction.

- If TVSS's sensitivity is set too low, turn "G.B. ADJ" screw in the clockwise direction.
Note: Small adjustments to the "G.B. ADJ" will make a large difference in setting the sensitivity level. The proper adjustment range will be obtained near the "10 o'clock" position.

8. Repeat the steps until TVSS is set correctly.

Please refer to the TVSS Installations Instruction Manual (p/n 00107-80635) for further information.
