Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair


Wagon:




REMOVAL OF CONDENSER
1. Recover refrigerant.
2. Remove front grille, hood lock, and center brace, also horn if necessary.
3. Disconnect discharge hose from condenser inlet fitting.
4. Disconnect liquid tube from condenser outlet fitting.

NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture out of the system.

5. Remove the bolts.
6. Remove the condenser.

INSTALLATION OF CONDENSER
1. Install condenser.
2. Install the bolts making sure the rubber cushions fit on the mounting flanges correctly.
3. Connect liquid tube and discharge hose to condenser.

Torque:
Liquid tube: 13 Nm (10 ft-lb)
Discharge hose: 22 Nm (16 ft-lb)


4. Install front grille, hood lock, and center brace. Install horn if removed.
5. If condenser was replaced, add 40-50 cc (1.4-1.7 fl.oz.) compressor oil to compressor.

Compressor oil: DENSOOIL 6

6. Evacuate air from air conditioning system.
7. Charge air conditioning system with refrigerant and check for leakage.

Specified amount: 600-750 g (1.3-1.7 lb)
