TITLE: FADER CONTROL


Condition:

Fader control inoperative on vehicles with a four speaker combo system.


Cause:

Two-pin connector between the five and nine-pin harness is connected.

Correction:

The two-pin connector on the radio harness should be connected only on vehicles with a two speaker system. It should not be connected on vehicles with a four speaker system.

Note that page 57 of the guide, showing the Tercel radio installation, is in error. The drawings do not correctly illustrate the options for using the two pin connector. The two pin connector should be used in the Tercel in the same way as illustrated in this bulletin and as used in all other Toyota vehicles discussed in the Audio Installation Guide.
