A/T - A130/A140 Differential Inspection

SUBJECT: Toyota A-130, A-140 Differential

When overhauling the transaxle, you should pay close attention to the differential. The pinion shaft lock pin should be removed for inspection.

This pin may appear in good condition, but may be cracked or broken. The only way to check it, is to remove it.




Figure # 1 - Drive out the pinion shaft lock pin from the gear side.




Figure # 2 - After inspection, use a hammer and punch to drive the lock pin through the case and hold in the pinion shaft.
