Brake Rotor/Disc: Service and Repair

Removal

Disc Brake Assembly:






1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove front wheel.

Installation Bolts For Torque Plate:






3. Remove the two installation bolts from the torque plate.

Suspend Caliper Assembly:






4. Remove the brake pad/caliper assembly and suspend it so the hose is not stressed, do not disconnect the brake hose.

Torque Plate Mount Bolts:






5. Remove the torque plate from the steering knuckle.
6. Pull the brake disc off of the axle hub.

Installation

Torque Plate Mount Bolts:






1. Install brake disc and install the torque plate onto the steering knuckle. Torque to 88 Nm (65 ft.lbs).

Torque Caliper Mount Bolts:






2. Install brake pad/caliper assembly. Torque the two mount bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft.lbs).
3. Install front wheel.
4. Lower vehicle.
