Front Seat Belt
REPLACEMENTHINT:
- Installation is in the reverse order of the removal. But, the installation is indicated only when it has a point.
- In the LH side, work in the same procedure as in the RH side.
1. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the nut and front seat inner belt.
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
4. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
6. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
7. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER RH
8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY RH
NOTE: If the wiring connector of the seat belt pretensioner is disconnected with the ignition switch at ON or ACC, DTC will be recorded.
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the shoulder anchor cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the bolt and shoulder anchor.
c. Using a screwdriver, remove the floor anchor cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
d. Remove the bolt and floor anchor.
e. Disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
NOTE: When removing the seat belt pretensioner, operation must be started after 90 seconds have passed from the time when the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.
f. Remove the 2 bolts and front seat outer belt.
9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT BELT
a. Check the degree of tilt when beginning to lock the ELR.
1. Make sure that the belt cannot be pulled out by over 45 degrees of tilt.
NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.
b. Install the retractor side with the 2 bolts.
Upper side:
Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 67 in.lbf)
Lower side:
Torque: 42.0 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
c. Install the shoulder anchor with the bolt.
Torque: 42.0 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
d. Install the floor anchor with the bolt.
Torque: 42.0 N.m (420 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
e. Inspect the ELR lock.
1. With the belt installed to the vehicle, check that the belt will be locked when the belt is quickly pulled.
