Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 3

REPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSY LH
3. REMOVE REAR DISC
4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSY LH NO.1
5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSY LH NO.2
6. SEPARATE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY NO.3





a. Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the parking brake cable No. 3 from the backing plate.





b. Loosen the lock nut, and rotate the turn buckle to disconnect the parking brake cable No. 2 and No. 3.
7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY NO.3
a. Remove the bolt, 4 nuts and parking brake cable No. 3.





8. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY NO.3
a. Install the parking brake cable No. 3 with the bolt and 4 nuts.
Torque:
8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) for Bolt
5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.) for Nut
9. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY NO.3





a. Connect the parking brake cable No. 3 to the backing plate with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (80 kgf-cm, 5.5 ft. lbs.)





b. Connect the parking brake cable No. 3 and No. 2.
10. APPLY HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASE
a. Apply the high temperature grease to the shoe attached surface of the backing plate.
11. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSY LH NO.1
12. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSY LH NO.2
13. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION
14. INSTALL REAR DISC
15. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE
16. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSY LH
17. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
18. CHECK PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
19. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
