Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 2
REPLACEMENT1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSY, RH
3. REMOVE REAR DISC [42431/98-63]
4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSY LH NO.1 [46580/98-78]
5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSY RH OR CENTER NO.2 [46550/98-78]
6. SEPARATE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY NO.2 [46420/98-78]
a. Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the parking brake cable No. 2 from the backing plate.
b. Loosen the lock nut, and disconnect the parking brake cable No. 2 from the turn buckle.
c. Remove the nut, and disconnect the parking brake cable No. 1 and No. 2 from the parking brake equalizer.
7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY NO.2 [46420/98-78]
a. Remove the bolt, 7 nuts and parking brake cable No. 2.
8. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY NO.2 [46420/98-78]
a. Install the parking brake cable No. 2 with the bolt and 7 nuts.
Torque:
Bolt: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.)
Nut: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.)
9. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY NO.2 [46420/98-78]
a. Connect the parking brake cable No. 2 and No. 1 to the parking brake equalizer with the nut.
Torque: 12.5 Nm (128 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.)
b. Connect the parking brake cable No. 2 to the turn buckle.
c. Connect the parking brake cable No. 2 to the backing plate with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (80 kgf-cm, 5.5 ft. lbs.)
10. APPLY HIGH TEMPERATURE GREASE
a. Apply the high temperature grease to the shoe attached surface of the backing plate.
11. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSY LH NO.1 [46580/98-78]
12. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSY RH OR CENTER NO.2 [46550/98-78]
13. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION
14. INSTALL REAR DISC [42431/98-63]
15. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE
16. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSY, RH
17. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)
18. CHECK PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
19. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
