Throttle Body: Service and Repair
COMPONENTS
REMOVAL
1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
2. DISCONNECT CABLES
a. W/Cruise control: Disconnect the cruise control actuator cable.
b. Disconnect accelerator cable.
c. A/T: Disconnect throttle cable.
3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE
4. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY
a. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
b. Disconnect the IAC valve connector.
c. Disconnect the vacuum hose.
d. Disconnect the 2 water bypass hose.
e. Disconnect the air assist hose.
f. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, throttle body and gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY
a. Place a new gasket on the air intake chamber facing the protrusion upward.
b. Install the throttle body with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 18 Nm (180 kg.cm, 13 ft.lb)
c. Connect the throttle position sensor connector.
d. Connect the IAC valve connector.
e. Connect the vacuum hose.
f. Connect the 2 water bypass hoses.
g. Connect air assist hose.
2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE
3. DISCONNECT CABLES
a. W/Cruise control: Connect the cruise control actuator cable.
b. Connect the accelerator cable.
c. A/T: Connect the throttle cable.
4. FILL WITH ENGINE COOLANT
